Estimated to be about 4.5 Billions years old, these space rocks date back to the beginning of our solar system. To date, there have been only 61 known pallasite meteorite falls worldwide, making pallasite meteorite a highly prized and sought after mineral.
This meteorite this specimen came from the Admire Pallasite Meteorite, discovered in 1881 by a farmer plowing his field in Eastern Kansas, in Admire near Lyon County. The Admire Pallasite remains one of the largest pallasite meteorite falls, with over 2 tons having been recovered.
